October 1, 2007 Dear Friends of CADEAUX du MONDE: CADEAUX du MONDE would like to invite all of our family, friends, business associates and customers to consider a donation to our 2007 UNICEF Fundraising Campaign--our 21st year of coordinating a UNICEF benefit. This year all funds raised will allow UNICEF to pre-position supplies in more locations around the world so emergency medical supplies can be delivered within hours rather than days, so tents and other shelters will be available, so food and clean water supplies can be immediately provided and so help--and hope--can be available to protect the lives of innocent children around the world. In addition, the funds raised will be used to support UNICEF's ongoing efforts to fight malnutrition and disease. As a result of UNICEF and its partner's immunization programs, about 75 percent of the world's children are now protected. UNICEF has saved more children than any other humanitarian organization in the world because it is the only organization able to tackle the real issues that affect why children are dying in the first place. Whether the obstacle is politics, poverty, ideology or basic logistics, UNICEF is most qualified to confront and resolve it. UNICEF can coordinate the work of governments, other non-governmental organizations, corporations, foundations and communities in 156 countries and territories where children are dying. Twelve local businesses have once again generously donated their space and placed the familiar bright orange countertop collection boxes next to their cash registers for the entire month of October--National UNICEF month. The boxes can be found at The Melville House Inn, Hydrangea House Inn, Miniature Occasions & Dolls, Atwater Villa, Spring Bull Gallery, Baccari's Barber Shop, Heritage Real Estate, Firehouse Theatre, Newport Hardware, Newport County Chamber of Commerce, DeBlois Gallery and CADEAUX du MONDE. To donate to this year's fundraising campaign or to participate by placing a countertop collection box in your business, contact CADEAUX du MONDE at (401)848-0550 or drop by the Gallery at 26 Mary Street in Newport, RI between 10 and 6 daily. Thanks for all your years of supporting this worthy cause. Jane & Katie Dyer Owners, CADEAUX du MONDE 26 Mary Street Newport, RI 02840 (401) 848-0550 email: info@cadeauxdumonde.com
